Silverback
Brief:
corporate identity
Executive chef, Andrew Odendaal, approached me with the idea of creating a corporate image for his new culinary venture. He was looking for a specific style to tailor into a unique elegant identity. We created the logo based on the brand name Silver Back. The concept unfolded from the realm of silver service, which is the standard that Andrew was looking to create. The black and white identity shows elegance, style and sophistication.
The idea of using the gorilla character dressed up as a silver service waiter was to create a playful edge to the brands identity. He is now an icon for Silver Back culinary creations and represents the nature and quality of the brand.

Regal Models
Brief:
corporate identity
The idea of creating a new look for a start up modelling agency was something we were really looking forward to. We had the use of amazing photographers available to us. Regal Models wanted a clean, contemporary look and feel for the brand. The logo was created from these directions. The regal nature of the crown, scrolls, wings and ornate detail were drawn from the brand name itself.
The stylised face in the centre creates a rounded contemporary feel when placed among the duotone nature of the logo working as a whole. The use of only two colours elevates the clean, elegant identity. The low saturation isolated figures on white work well with the dark teal pantones.

The Nguni
Brief:
corporate identity
In South Africa there is a large need for printed communication mediums to be dispersed among the traditional rural areas. A publication company trying to create a local publication for indigenous people approached me. It aimed to provide community current affairs and 'what's on' information of the community.
I created the logo based on authentic African rock art paintings, as 'Nguni' means 'cow' in the local language of Xhosa. The shades of green represent the natural tones of the grasslands of the surrounding area of where the publication would be distributed. The brand identity was well received by the local people and the cow has become an icon for the area.

Brief:
corporate identity
This was an exciting project that came about from the re- branding of the Hales Institute (in Melbourne?). A new training salon was developed and we were asked to create this new image of learning, training, beauty and hair
The logo was intended to be free and expressive. The idea was to allow the imagination of the students to run wild, giving them inspiration to learn and create new ideas. The black silhouette of the face and head represents the blank canvas that would be presented to each student at the start of a new project. The wild, expressive floral decorative design emerging from the head is a representative of the creative process needed when creating innovative hair and style.

corporate identity
There is extensive history surrounding this brand, with the building that houses this establishment recently turned 100 years old. The idea of reinventing Halescame about when MEGT decided they needed a fresh contemporary image to inspire the diverse students that attend the institution.
The shield represents the strength of the building's heritage. The angled perspective evokes the contemporary style required to engage youth. The serif typeface adds to a more sentimental sense of the traditional logo. The use of an electric blue as the senior colour really lifts the youthful nature and provides that perfect balance between traditional and modern.

Stationary Printers
Brief:
corporate identity
In London where the completion in the printing industry is very competitive you need to stand out from the rest.
I created this identity for Stationary Printers with the thought of a simple, bold, visual feel. The CMYK colour stipes can be used through the advertising process. The icon of the mouse on the wheel works well as a stand-alone logo or combined with the text. The mouse is also used as a stand-alone icon when desired.

Lounge Events
Brief:
corporate identity
I was approached in London by a very charming and sophisticated woman name Katja Thrane. She had a vision of setting up an events company in West London that would house creatively spectacular functions and events. I came up with the name Lounge,. which would go on to represent the comfort and style that the company endeavours to represent.
With the desired message of the brand being slick creative, with an edgy sense about it, I used an illustrative treatment for the brand's identity. The red, black and white combines to create a powerful visual aesthetic. The logotype has a continuous elegance, which combines well with the identity as a whole.
